Local Wildlife and Birds
Outstanding natural beauty
Tucking Mill Self-Catering’s cottages are located in the Midford Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The properties are perched on the valley aspect in the hamlet of Tucking Mill, enjoying glorious vistas out across the valley and neighbouring fields. From your chair in the cottage private gardens at Brooks’ View or Fishermen’s Retreat, or on the private terrace up at Tucking Mill View, you can often spot wildflowers, interesting birds and local wildlife. This tranquil setting is an idyllic way to reconnect with nature and while away the hours in the sunny afternoons.
Plenty to explore
We’re also based in the Cotswolds and so the cottages are surrounded by a plethora of trails for walking and cycling. The walks are superb for birdwatchers or adventurers who are happy to wander down different public footpaths and discover something new. Expect wildflowers, forest trails, flowing brooks, and gorgeous Somerset views. Some details on the local walks can be found on our page here.
